Every Spring, students from Goizueta Business School's MBA program celebrate the end of the year by embarking on an appropriately named "Beach Week". This week, we spent our time in South Carolina's Isle of Palms and Charleston. Below are some of the highlights from my trip.
Confederate Jasmine is all over the island and in Charleston, but something about that name (I wonder what) just doesn't sit right with me. It's beautiful nonetheless.
My friend Robin is the classiest girl I know, hence the perfectly manicured nails and monogramed J. Crew Signet Bag.
We spent quite a bit of time strolling down the streets south of Broad, a historic neighborhood known for its iconic architectural style. It's all very nice, but was a little repetitive for me. That's why I stopped when I saw the unique addition on this house (left). My favorite homes, wherever I go, are those that combine architectural styles. I also loved the juxtaposition of the vintage Vespa next to the Audi S7.
The photo on the right shows the side entrance to a large home. Our Uber driver suggested we peek through the gates we passed by. I had to do some mild trespassing to get this shot, but I loved this hall and the risk was worth it.
And of course, I did some natural beauty shopping. At Wildcraft I picked up the Axiology lipstick in Worth. It's a vegan, natural formula in a deep orange hue. I also picked up the Ecobrow Defining Wax in Frida, a black color. At Pink Dot Beauty Bar I picked up the Rituel de Fille cream blush in Desire (which I plan to use as an eyeshadow) and the Antonym Waterproof Eye Pencil in Brown.
This picture of Kiara represents everything that was great about this trip - beautiful architecture and flora, a sweet little sunburn and windswept hair, and the
relief delight we all felt in knowing we were just a week away from graduation.
