Bite Beauty Unearthed Collection Review
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Liquid Lipstick | $25 | 0.25 oz
Bite Beauty Released their Liquified Lipsticks maybe a year or two ago with a set of about twenty modern-but-conventional shades. I picked up a few and have worn them occasionally but the colors never really did it for me.
Fast forward to present day and who would have thought that a lipstick collection inspired by root vegetables would be so damn titillating?
When Bite Beauty released the press images for the Unearthed Collection, a new extension of the pre-existing color selection, my heart skipped a beat. That’s an exaggeration, but I was very, very excited. It was refreshing to see a collection that included so many shades that would work with my skin tone (i.e. there’s a complete lack of pasty nude shades in the lineup) and I knew they would be a welcome addition to my existing collection.
I picked up two shades - Sugar Beet, a “muted violet” and Arrowroot, an “earthy pumpkin”. Arrowroot was the first shade I picked up because it was love at first swatch. I put it on and knew I had to have it. I picked up Sugar Beet a few weeks later. I had swatched it in store and even wore it for a full day before I decided to go for it. And although my boyfriend hates it, I’m quite happy with the purchase.
If you’re not familiar with the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipsticks, they are a creamy, pigmented, long-lasting liquified lipstick. They are not matte and they are not transfer-proof. Instead they are hydrating and comfortable. They go on shiny, but after they settle in you’re left with a luxurious, satin finish.
These aren’t the type of lipsticks that will live in my purse because I certainly need a mirror for a tidy application. But they are the type of lipsticks that I would bring on vacation or wear on a special occasion. They apply beautifully, are long-lasting, do not slip, and are a generally reliable workhorse type of product. If you’re interested in any of the shades from the Unearthed Collection I say go for it.
